Gemma Banks, our Head of Creativity, shows us how to incorporate Greenery, Pantone's colour of the year, into your events in 2017.
When the Pantone colour of the year was announced I wasn’t entirely sure what to make of it. It was green. Really really green.
Initially I struggled with how we could translate this shade of green into the many facets of event design. However, once this vibrant green was on my radar I started to see it in all sorts of places, and I was awash with ideas…
Florals & Foliage
One of the easiest ways to tie this colour into your event is through the use of botanical displays. Think lots of bright foliage such a ferns & hanging amaranthus, mini succulent table centres, a living ‘photo booth’ wall, oak leaf placement and beautiful bridal arrangements of softs pinks & greens.
Stationary
Custom event stationary, such as invites, menus & placement cards, decorated with cheese plant leaves and tropical palms are bang on trend…and the perfect way to subtly hint at the colour of the year without going all out. Paperless Post have a brilliantly designed selection online, or for something more bespoke why not contact Cutture.
Production
Furniture and bespoke bars are a brilliant way to inject a pop of colour to your event surroundings.
Great Hire have embraced the trend and have some fantastic pieces in the ‘greenery’ shade…but our absolute favourite is their Unico Gold & Palm Bar!
Alternatively why not look to a supplier like Gods Own Junkyard who can supply striking green neon lighting creations!
Glassware & Crockery
If bright green furniture doesn’t suit your event why not bring a hint of the springtime colour to your tablescape with the use of coloured glass & crockery. Jones Hire combine green & pink in their elegant Venetian range, and Options Hire bring fun to cocktails with their Bubble range of glasses.
Or what about green napkins against crisp white table linen.
Make It Edible
We mustn’t forget the wonderful array of edible ingredients we can utilise to bring a touch of ‘greenery’ to the table. What about fashionable Matcha Green Tea Chocolate & Raspberry petit fours, or classic Pistachio Macarons…or if you want something a little stronger for your guests why not try a Green Apple Martini…
