A Regal Feast for Hospitality Action at the Tower of London

We were delighted to have been part of last month’s event for Hospitality Action at the Tower of London, raising money to support people across the hospitality industry. We’re passionate about our industry and want to ensure the best possible working environments for all of our staff, so it really is a cause that’s close to our hearts.

The evening began with a private tour of the Tower’s most famous exhibits, the Crown Jewels. Guests enjoyed a Champagne reception with canapés including chicken and ham ballotines, leek and mushroom tartlets and smoked salmon roulades. Without the crowds, the space was perfect for a special talk by one of the Jewel House guides.

Then they were ushered through to the Restaurant, laid for a banquet, where the Tower of London team had prepared a feast fit for a Tudor royal!

A starter of Loch Fyne salmon was served with flavoured oils and tear-and-share bread, after which the guests were invited to take part in a game of "Heads & Tails”. There were a selection of mouth-watering main courses on offer at the Billingsgate, Leadenhall and Smithfield counters, including ‘Head to Tail’ Suffolk pork, whole roasted rainbow trout, and ‘Tudor Coffin’ pie. Finally, the guests sampled the delights of a classic steamed pudding with toffee apple treats.

Once the plates had been cleared, the charity auction began.

With a special guest appearance from Henry VIII himself, this really was a night to remember, and it raised over £10,000 for this worthy cause.

Giuliana from Hospitality Action said:

It was a fantastic evening and the food went down a real treat with our guests. They enjoyed all elements of the evening.

We are very grateful to the team for their support both on the night and in the lead up to the event. It was a fantastic setting for a unique fundraising event and was a real privilege to see the Crown Jewels in such a setting. The Beefeaters and actors really brought the proceedings to life. The food was very in-keeping with the theming and style of our event and the location. The guests thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the opportunity to go up for seconds!
