An exclusive event with Ampersand

A highly eminent client, whose prestigious delegates included some of the top 50 senior executives in the world, chose Ampersand and the In & Out for their exclusive two day conference event, hiring the entire first floor and dining on bespoke Ampersand menus.
Privacy was essential to the client, and they loved the quiet class and discrete prestige of the Club. Its grand history was a wonderful bonus, as they prefer to host events in venues with strong character and unique appeal.

The health conscious clientele required high quality catering that was as healthy as it was delicious, so Ampersand chefs Gary Deveraux and Matthew Smith created an entirely bespoke menu to meet the client’s needs perfectly. The tantalising dishes included seared halibut with a watercress dressing, lean rump of beef, ceviche scallops with keta caviar and baby vegetable and ricotta terrine.

As well as the selection of delicious meals, there was a variety of healthy snacks available throughout the duration of the event, all individually presented in natural muslin bags and specially labelled. To keep delegates refreshed there was a selection of fresh lemonades, mint and apple teas, and a range of ice teas available throughout the event.

The elegant Coffee Room was the main venue for the conference and was laid out in a theatre arrangement with specially hired director style leather chairs. Meanwhile, the King Harald V Stateroom was home to all the meal services. Again, an inspirational setting was created, tailored to the client’s preferences, with 4ft round tables, each seating 8 guests and dressed in buttercream coloured Irish linen. 

The Astor Room became a relaxed lounge area for breaks, made the more luxurious with a bespoke coffee station (provided in cooperation with Paddy and Scot’s) manned by talented baristas able to create any coffee the guests could wish for. Guests were free to unwind and enjoy their coffee in batwing chairs and Chesterfield pieces moved in from the Library. In every room, the ambience was enriched with fresh flowers presented in the company’s colours, green and white. 

All agreed that the event was a great success; the organiser and finder of the venue gave the following feedback:
