Karen Poynter scoops Banqueting and Event Chef Award at Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2017

Congratulations to our talented executive chef for the commercial division, Karen Poynter, who won the Banqueting and Event Chef Award at the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2017.

Karen is a real inspiration. Her culinary skills, knowledge and flair, always delivered to exceptionally high standards, are impressive. As is her ability to capture the essence of each unique venue within the portfolio. A talent that has not gone unnoticed by her peers and clients – and now the Craft Guild of Chefs judges. Nurturing the chefs of the future is also important to Karen. She gives her team the benefit of her time and expertise, mentoring and developing them to reach their goals and beyond. She also supports the industry through her work with the Craft Guild of Chefs, the Worshipful Company of Cooks, the Academy of Culinary Arts and Springboard. Karen was overjoyed to be an award winner: “It’s so amazing to win this award. I was up against very talented chefs that I really admire, so when I heard my name called out it was an incredible feeling. The Craft Guild of Chefs Awards are held in very high esteem by chefs and the industry, so I’m thrilled to have one and it’s proudly displayed in the kitchen. I’m surrounded by a fantastic team who deliver exceptional food and service every day, and I thank them for their support. This award is as much theirs as mine.” Karen was presented with her award at the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards on 1 June 2017.
