60 Seconds with Zoe Benoit

Zoe’s role is to assist clients in every aspect of an event. She is an integral part of the team, and assists with quotations, paperwork, coordination, tastings, meetings, site visits …the list goes on.

Having been with us for 6 months now, Zoe is going from strength to strength. This month she has really got stuck in, coordinating her own series of events.

What is the best thing you have tasted this month?

I enjoyed one of the best veggie main courses I have tried in a long time during a tasting with Chloe Martin and our client Forever Living. It was a wild mushroom, goat’s cheese, celeriac and spinach Wellington that literally melted in the mouth. Being a meat eater, I tend to prefer a main course with some kind of meat included but I enjoyed this vegetarian option so much that I would choose it over a meat dish any day of the week!

What are you most looking forward to in the month ahead?

I am looking forward to Cosmopolitan with Advertising Week at one of our favourite venues, Kensington Palace. As I was not here when we did this event last year, I am really excited to see it, especially as I’ve heard so many stories of how fantastic the turnout was last time.

What has been your biggest achievement this month?

Taking on the annual Squash Tournament by Eventis Sport at Canary Wharf has been a massive achievement this month. This is a big event with a huge following and I have been lucky enough to coordinate it this year, working alongside Tim Garner. I have enjoyed coordinating not only the catering for the 450 audience members in the stands but also the VIP dinner for a select 40 guests. The lucky 40 were able to enjoy many of our new dishes whilst watching the matches. This has been a great achievement for all of those involved, and I hope squash continues to grow in popularity as it has for the past 10 years!

Your best food fact?

Chocolate is extremely difficult to give up for lent while working at Ampersand Events – FACT!

Over the past few weeks I have been refusing chocolate for lent. It has been super hard to say no to our chocolate brownies, our Ampersand Black Forest gateau and our chocolate and honeycomb torte desserts! Three more weeks and I’m almost there.

If someone asked you to give them a single piece of advice, what would you say?

Do something that scares you every day (or at least every week). It is so great to keep an open mind and try new things, even if they scare you. It’s a good way of learning new things about people, places and even yourself.

If you could try out any job for a day, what would you like to try?

I would love to try working in the fashion industry and to be involved in London Fashion Week. Visiting Paris, Milan and New York to see the latest trends would be great!

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

I would most definitely like to have the power to fly! I constantly find myself rushing from one thing to the next and always being on the go. Being able to fly would not only mean me getting from one lovely event to the next in record time, but I would also be able to visit all the countries in the world whenever I wanted.
