Ampersand Events' Maiden Voyage with the London Transport Museum

Our 2013 began with the announcement that Ampersand Events had been added to the approved suppliers list for the prestigious London Transport Museum, and we were thrilled to follow this up with our first event there this March.
Not only was this our first event at the museum, it was also our new Operations Manager Simon Robinson’s first for the company. With this in mind, we wanted to ensure both the client and the venue were thoroughly impressed with our performance.

In January this year, London Underground celebrated 150 years of service since the first underground journey took place between Paddington and Farringdon; what better way to celebrate our first evening at the London Transport Museum than to incorporate this momentous juncture into our event? We always relish the opportunity to bring some creativity into our decking, and as the event was a canapé and bowl food reception, this seemed a perfect chance to do so.

During the tasting we presented ideas that embraced the transport theme, such as black slates made into roads with mini toy buses, taxis and tubes, edible zebra crossings, and our famous "meat fruit” designed to look like traffic beacons, as well old fashioned transport posters and underground signs put into a selection of our beautiful frames.  The client’s delight and positive feedback made us even more excited about bringing these details to life on the evening itself.

These touches were a resounding success on the night garnering fantastic feedback from the client as well as a perfectly executed premier performance from Simon. We loved our first experience in this iconic venue and look forward to continuing to impress our clients over the coming months.
