Clissold House

Set in the serene and tranquil surroundings of Clissold Park, only a stone’s throw away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Clissold House is a stunning Grade II* listed 18th century building surrounded by one of London’s best loved traditional parks.

With a rich history, beautiful architecture and acres of green space this former country estate offers the perfect backdrop for intimate wedding & civil service receptions, corporate conferences and cultural events. Dating back to the 1790 Clissold House, formerly known a Paradise House was built by Jonathan Hoare a city merchant as his country villa. The building has since been restored to its 18th century glory, with its spectacular high ceilings, grand spiral staircases, marble fireplaces and large ornate windows flood the space with natural light and offer guests exceptional views across the park. This much-loved Georgian house re opened its doors in 2012 and now offers a range of beautifully restored period rooms to suit Ampersand’s equally elegant canapés and seated dinners.

Rooms

The Drawing Room, Dining Room and adjoining Hallway are perfect for the most stylish of weddings, providing space for a ceremony followed by a seated dinner or standing reception.

The second floor comprising the Church Room, New River Room and Dressing Room provides further space for conferences and corporate meetings and intimate gathering for celebrations throughout the year.

The alfresco terrace allows for drinks in the sunshine with delicious canapés served by our team and complemented with views of Clissold Park and its great lake. This venue is a unique gem on the doorstep of the city.
